How did you meet each other?
We met in Summer 2022. We both live in New York and we met on Bumble, a dating app. Our first date was a Sunday afternoon in Brooklyn, in a bar located inside a park. We were having such a good time and we had a great connection that we extended the date to have dinner.
What’s your most memorable date?
We have too many! But definitely the day we officially became a couple. We went with friends to watch the game Mexico-Argentina from the World Cup 2022. After that, Erick and I went to Korea town on 32nd St, we were walking and talking about when we’d travel to Mexico City together, and I (Ara) asked him if he’d introduce me to his family, he said yes, and I asked him how he’d introduce me as, and he said: “as my girlfriend”. That’s how we made our relationship official. Who would’ve thought that now we’re going to Mexico City to get married?
What’s your favorite activity together?
We love going to museums, Broadway shows, and going to ethnic food restaurants: Thai, Turkish, Greek, Spanish, Ukrainian, Chinese, Indian, everything! We love to explore and try different dishes. We also love going for walks in Central Park and Riverside Park. It’s nice we both loved that before meeting each other and doing that together is very special.
What’s the most memorable trip you’ve taken together?
We’ve had a few amazing trips, but the most memorable was in Summer 2024. We went to Bilbao, Spain; Dublin, Ireland; and Reykjavik, Iceland. There, we saw geysers, we ate pickled sharks and hiked a glacier which was incredible. Those trips made us realize that we are quite compatible in hobbies and personalities.
What concerts have you been together to?
Luis Miguel, Rolling Stones, LCD Soundsystem, Pixies and we’re looking forward to seeing Oasis this year! We usually go to other events like ballet (“Like Water for Chocolate” in Lincoln Center was spectacular), the opera and Broadway and off-Broadway shows.
A life goal that you have together.
A life with our own family, teaching our children the traditions we grew up with and creating new ones. Traveling a lot, going to concerts and live spectacular things. Enjoying the everyday moments like having dinner together after work and having breakfast in pajamas.
